I like hearing your thoughts, and I liked the used of a personal experience to really evaluate who you are and what you stand for in this philosophy. I have to tell you, though... Your last paragraph sounds like the thinking of an Essentialist: "To sum it up, I believe that students need to learn principles that will help them get through life and how to take information to recreate their own knowledge." Those "principles to help them get through life?" Those sound pretty...essential for everyone. :) Does that make you a "Esseperstructialist?" Great thoughts. I enjoyed reading them. Teaching as Point of View is a deeply cool idea. I do have one question, how do yor reconcile 'thinking outside the box', and 'independent thinking' with a system tooled to produce human capital?
